Goals

MnITS was created to fill a need.

The currently available online course delivery systems are expensive and proprietary. Some even charge a per-student licensing fee! In this day of budget cuts and layoffs expensive, proprietary, systems are unacceptable, especially for educational institutions.

Schools need open, flexible, systems. Packages they can customize, tweak, and extend. MnITS is such a system. The goal for MnITS is to create not just a system but the premier system for delivering online learning.

Currently MnITS is just getting started. A lot has been done, but a lot remains to be done. There is certainly a lot to do before the project can be considered production ready let alone before the goal can be achieved.

This project is open to all comers. Contribute and make a difference!
